Let's Get Acquainted
HI my name is Amanda Whitehurst, I have lived in Carteret County my entire life. I love and cherish the natural environment I grew up in here as well as the culture we have in this small, ocean oriented community. The majority of my younger years were spent growing up in a hotel in Atlantic Beach and my teen and adult years have been spent in Swansboro and Emerald Isle. Nothing makes me happier than being in nature with my loved ones and usually taking a photo or two posing in an old oak tree.
Growing up I always wanted to travel to exotic locations to go explore jungles and sit on sandy beaches under palm trees. I now know that even though that would be great, it is also equally amazing to explore a maritime forest and sit on the sand right here in my own hometown. My goal is to share why I love this place so much and why it should be added to your “Wanderlust Trip List” if it isn’t already.
